Hi,
I followed your tutorial and successfully built and burned the program for WFF Generic HID Demo 3 onto my pic18f4550. But when I connect it to my PC, it flashes a message "USB Device not recognised- A Device has malfunctioned.." What could be wrong? I have used the circuit that is there in the tutorial, but havent connected the LED and push button switch on port A. I just need my PC recognise this device.

If you are using unaltered firmware then it is probably a hardware issue; either the circuit isn't correct or you have the D+ and D- wires on the USB reversed. Make sure you verify that you have used the correct capacitors also (taking note of the uF, nF anf pF values).

Hi,
Let me try rewire the circuit. D+ and D- are not reversed.

Hi,
It worked. It was a hardware issue. My PCB was being shorted internally.
