Hi Guys, Im so glad to find WWF. Ive made and learned tons of stuff already , I decided to build that 4 Bit Computer As well , its just fascinating for me to just build adder like that by only using Discrete parts, Ive bought 100x BC574 100x10k 100x1k and switches and others, but im having problem with the scheme itself, I got all components but i wanted to build my own pcb by using laser trasfer tecnique, I donno how to turn this attached file to printable pcb file or how to build one ? I Used express sch to view the files but i donno how to print or make it transfarable , Can someone help me out with that ? On top of that i would like recieve the pcb scheme for one full adder only itself, Like the one in pictures , I would like to build my 4 adder in stack wise, Which means i will have 4 diffrent adder board that are connected stack wise and one control board to command and display . Please im really eager to build this help me out ASAP.

There should be both a SCH file and a PCB file in the zip. One is the schematic and the other is the PCB etching image.

You can take just the part for a single adder from the overall PCB image using expressPCB.

Thank you for your quick reply , But i guess i wasnt clear what i exacly want, I want to have exact one pcb output as you have a picture in here Image

I dont have enough knowledge to do so, And as far as i think, if you've built this one you should have the scheme for it , And in the other hand my other problem is eventho lets say you sent me the pcb or sch, then how do i get to print it out ? How do i transfer it to pcb ?

Download expressPCB and open the PCB file with it. I don't think I have a copy of the prototype circuit shown in your picture :(

ExpressPCB has a print option. You simply print it to your printer.

Thanks simon , and i got one last question for anyone who would help me with; Ive deleted and shrinked your marvelous desing into only 1 bit adder , Before i print this pcb out i wanted to make sure that i did not made any mistake , Ive uploaded the design , Ill make 8 of these and make it 8 bit full adder , as the basics of 4-Bit adder , 8Bit adder would also work as ripple carry adder am i right ? Please check my design out ill make it pcb ASAP,

Thanks in advance

Hi,
I'm a Year 8 student and am interested in building the 4-bit computer as a school project. But, I was having trouble opening the files you had to download (at http://www.waitingforfriday.com/index.p ... t_Computer). I was able to open the first file (full adder PCB6) after I downloaded ExpressPCI, but I couldn't open the second file (Logic design ExpressSCH 3). What program should I download, if any, else, what am I doing wrong?

I would also like to say thank you for putting up such interesting projects and for putting so much time into maintaining this website.

Many thanks,
A Regular Fan

P.S. Can you work out the anagram? I worked it out myself.

Hi again Simon,
I was also just wondering if you could get me started with places where I could get parts (I live in Australia, so physical stores probably won't help much)

Again,
With thanks,
A regular fan.

You need both ExpressPCB and ExpressSCH to open the files.

I don't have any experience with Australian suppliers, but the big companies are usually the best: Farnell, RS, digipart, etc.
