Due to a change in the way the HiTech PICC compiler deals with header files some of the projects on this site may not compile correctly if you are using version 9.82 or greater.

To work around this issue simply add the following line before #include <htc.h> in the code:

#define _LEGACY_HEADERS

Whilst I can understand the changes, doing it so that you break all existing code is a little poor of them IMHO.

Please note that the above advice is for PIC12F projects.

It seems the PIC18F compiler is also completely failing to compile projects as well (version 9.80).

I am looking for a fix at the moment, but in the meantime I suggest you use a version of the compiler prior to 9.80 if you want to compile something (version 9.66 is still working fine).
